Meet The Team
Pam - Children’s Centre Co-ordinator
Pam heads the Seedlings’ team and works alongside colleagues from a wide range of services including health, employment and education to ensure that the centre helps provide easy access to the wide range of support needed by families with young children.
After more than two decades working in children’s services Pam brings a wide range of experience to the Seedlings’ team and is proud to be working with parents to meet the needs of the local community.
Pam has a particular interest in play and in supporting parents who have children with additional needs.
Pam’s approach: “Seedlings has an open door and the kettle is always on!”
Cindy - Family Support Outreach Worker
Cindy joined our team in January 2010, having previously worked for Portage and in schools for children with additional needs. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience, having already achieved an Advanced Level CACHE Diploma in Childhood Studies she has since completed Triple P, PEEP and RoSPA training.
Debby - Family Support Outreach Worker
Debby specialises in one-to-one support for parents, including home visits to new parents. She also delivers our Positive Parenting Programme. In a career that spans almost thirty years, she has done everything from nannying and nursing to working with health visitors and running a family drop in centre.
Debby has worked with children and families in a wide variety of settings. These include pre-schools, nurseries, working alongside health visitors in the community and supporting parents wishing to return to work or education. Debby’s a great listener.
Debbie’s approach: “It really is true that a problem shared is a problem halved!”
Grete - Play Leader
Grete joined our team in summer 2010, having previously worked for Highwood Nursery as a nursery nurse. She currently runs our Rhyme Time session, creating a world of music, movement and singing for children and adults alike to enjoy. She also runs our Bumps to 15 Months group and our PEEP group along with some of the other staff from Seedlings.
Grete has a background in theatre and music and brings this and her lively sprit to everything she does at the centre. Having already completed her NVQ3 in Childcare and in Play Work she has since completed her PEEP training and is looking in to completing an Active Tots training course which would allow us to run sessions for our families.
Kat - Administrator
Kat is the person you are most likely to speak to when you call or visit the centre. On leaving university Kat worked in a children’s centre in Havant before joining the team at Seedlings.
Kat is well travelled and has a particular interest in supporting parents for whom English is not their first language. As well as her admin role she can often be found working with groups, assisting at crèches and running our group for Polish- speaking parents. Kat is currently studying for a NVQ 3 in Child Development.
Kat: “I love the fact that every day here is different - being able to offer ‘one-stop shop’ access to so many services and helping so many families guarantees that no two days will be the same.”
Adam - Mobile Centre Driver
Adam drives our mobile children's centre or Emily as she is otherwise known. You have probably seen Emily at some point in your local area, if you have not already been on board, feel free to come in and explore!
Since joining Seedlings Adam has completed a PEEP course and is currently doing his NVQ3 in Childcare Learning and Development. He has also finished a Forest Schools course which means he know runs our Woodland Adventure course for Dads and their children on the last Saturday of every month, where the children are able to play and learn in the local area, building dens, campfires and swings and cooking their own snack. Feel free to give us a call to find out more about the Woodland Adventure.
